Lyptus
|
Lyptus is a Brazilian grown hardwood that provides an economical alternative to Mahogany. This wood is plantation grown to protect Brazilian forests and is stable, hard, durable, wear resistant, and readily machinable. Although Lyptus is about 45% heavier than Mahogany, the boards are much straighter, flatter, and smoother in their rough sawn state.
This material is availble in random width, the average being 7"-8" wide.
