Starrett Universal Surface Gage
|
This Surface Gage, made of steel and hardened, has a heavy base with all contact surfaces highly ground and polished. The base is grooved for adapting to cylindrical surfaces. The front end of the base is also grooved so the spindle can be used above or below the base. The scriber can be adjusted to any position. Four friction-type gage pins in the base allow base to be pushed down against surface plate or T-slot for linear work. The upper and lower sleeves are designed so that the scriber and spindle holes are always in alignment.
